Jarrah - Adopted!
Calm, gentle and loving - Jarrah the 4 month old Kelpie X can’t wait to find his forever home!
Jarrah’s personality:
Jarrah's beautiful nature has been on display since the day he arrived at Sweet Pea. If this was a dating site, Jarrah’s profile would read: friendly, social, loves being around people and hanging out with his (doggie) friends, but he also has a quiet, cuddly and sensitive side.
Jarrah is an approximately 4 month old Kelpie X who is intelligent and has demonstrated that he definitely carries the smart Kelpie genes! He loves to be around humans and when he is not playing or chasing his friends, you will find him on your lap for a big cuddle. Jarrah is used to wearing a harness and walks well on a lead; he is also working very hard with the volunteers to practice and build on his puppy etiquette and basic skills. His gentle and calm nature, means that he is adaptable and will fit in well with any loving family. He can’t wait to find his forever home!
Jarrah’s ideal forever home:
Jarrah’s ideal forever home would be one that is ready and prepared to welcome a puppy with open arms. His new family will need to have commitment and patience to introduce him safely to the ways of the world and be willing to include him in their everyday life. He will need to be shown how to build on his basic training and puppy etiquette as he grows and settles into his forever home. Jarrah loves playtime with his doggie friends but seems to be just as comfortable with human company. He would suit being the only doggie in the family, but also quite happy to have an older canine brother or sister. We anticipate that Jarrah will grow into a medium size doggie as he develops and he will need a good sized yard with appropriate fencing to safely play in.
Jarrah’s story:
We believe that Jarrah was found alongside his siblings (Bindi and Banjo) in the bush near Kiwarrak and taken to the pound. Due to their age, Sweet Pea was contacted by council and asked if we could provide Duty of Care during their impound time, with a view to rescuing them if they were not claimed. Our hope was that they would find their forever homes quickly due to them being so young, but due to an influx of surrenders and current numbers within our facility, it has taken a bit longer than we had hoped to carry out their veterinary work and allocate admin volunteers to manage their listings. Thankfully, Bindi and Banjo were adopted not long after arriving, having already been spotted on the council website! Jarrah has been an absolute delight since he arrived, showing off his sweet and affectionate nature from day one. He is now rooming with his bestie, Myrtle (another pup from the pound) and can’t wait to find his forever family!
Jarrah’s medical history:
Jarrah is a happy and healthy young boy. He is desexed, up to date with vaccinations and microchipped. He has also been preventatively treated regularly for fleas, ticks and worms. Jarrah has a very healthy appetite and is working on growing big and strong!
