Ziggy - Adopted!

Ziggy is a happy, bouncy 4 month old puppy! She loves other doggies, big or small and cannot wait to find her forever family.

Ziggy’s personality:
Ziggy is one spirited little girl! She has overcome a pretty rough start to life and shown bravery and resilience through it all. Ziggy is playful, affectionate and loves to be out in the yard running around with her furry friends or getting lots of cuddles from her human ones. She also loves to chase the ball or do zoomies with her doggie playmates, Woody and Chip. Both are much bigger than her, but she’s not too shy to put them in their place if they get too rough! Ziggy gets along very well with all doggies that she meets and definitely loves her play/wrestle time.

She is used to wearing a harness and enjoys going for walks - although she occasionally takes a bit of encouragement to get going! Ziggy loves to be a part of the action and would make a great adventure buddy as she grows.

Ziggy’s ideal forever home:
Ziggy most importantly needs the love and security that a forever home will give her. She would suit either a family, or maybe a couple looking for their first canine family member! Ziggy would best suit having a canine brother or sister who can show her the ropes and keep her company when her humans aren't home. She’s still a puppy so she will need to become part of a family who is prepared to continue with her puppy training, as well as giving her lots of cuddles! Ziggy will need a securely fenced yard that she is able to run and play in, as well as daily walks.
She will suit a home with younger children, provided they are confident with bigger doggies and also a endearing puppy that sometimes trips over her own feet or jumps because she is just far too excited to see you!

Ziggy’s story:
Ziggy was bought from a farm in Bulahdelah by a young man wanting his first dog and we imagine Ziggy must have been very excited to start her new life! Two days later, her new owner took it upon himself to walk around Tuncurry attempting to give her away, after realising he was not in a position to look after her. Fortunately, one of our wonderful volunteer team members bumped into them and assisted in having Ziggy surrendered to us here at Sweet Pea Animal Rescue. It was a terrible first encounter with the real world for a little puppy.

Ziggy took some time to settle in at first, she was very timid and must have been very confused with all the changes in such a short time. However, it did not take her long to realise she was now safe and start to come out of her shell. The difference in her now compared to when she first arrived is amazing!
Ziggy is now a confident, playful puppy who looks forward to seeing the volunteers every day (we think it is mostly because they provide food!), but is absolutely thriving and is well on her way to living the life she deserves.

Ziggy’s medical history:
Ziggy has passed all of her vet checks with flying colours and is very healthy. She is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated (she will still receive a booster vaccination prior to her adoption) and is also regularly treated with parasitic preventatives.

More about Ziggy:
Ziggy is an absolutely beautiful girl, who we anticipate will grow into a medium to large sized doggy. She will require ongoing training to help her learn her basics and will also benefit from attending puppy school so that she is able to continue socialising.
This gorgeous young girl will provide so much love and great companionship to her new family - for many, many years to come!

Ziggy’s adoption fee will be $500 which contributes towards her vet work, food, housing and other costs while she is in care.
