Violet - Adopted!

Violet is a happy go lucky puppy who loves to play and cuddle! She is approximately 3 months old and cannot wait to find her forever home.

Violet’s personality:
Violet is the sweetest bundle of joy you will ever meet; she is an approximately 3 month old German Shorthaired Pointer X (this is our best guess, based on her colouring!). We anticipate that Violet is going to grow into a medium size doggie as she develops.

Violet came into our lives at the end of January and we have been in love ever since. Her personality is gentle, affectionate and she makes friends with everyone she meets. Her favourite things to do are to play, sleep, cuddle with her bestie (Karakia) or race around with her doggie friends. Violet is also a big water baby! Spending time splashing in her doggie pool and dunking her head under is definitely up there as one of her favourite activities. Being so young, Violet has a high energy level but will quite happily spend time laying in the sun after playtime and watching the world go by.

Violet’s ideal forever home:
Violet’s ideal forever home would be one that is ready and prepared to welcome a puppy. Her new family will need to have the time and commitment to introduce her safely to the ways of the world. She will need to be shown how to build on her basic training and puppy etiquette as she grows and settles into her forever home. Violet loves having a playmate and would suit a home where there is already a canine family member in residence (one that will be patient with her puppy antics of course!). We anticipate that Violet is going to grow into a medium size doggie as she develops and will need a good sized yard with appropriate fencing to safely play in.

Violet’s story:
Unbelievably, Violet ended up in the pound as a stray at only 8 weeks of age. Due to her young age, the amazing Animal Care Team at Midcoast Council immediately began the process of having her released under Duty of Care, so she could fulfil her required impound time in a more appropriate environment. And how lucky are we? Violet has been an absolute delight from the moment she arrived, with all the hospital and rescue staff immediately falling in love with her.

Violet’s medical history:
Violet is a healthy and happy young girl who has adapted very well after her uncertain start to life. She has been treated for fleas, ticks and worms regularly since she arrived and has been working on growing big and strong – going from 5.6kg – 9kg in a month! She has received her first two puppy vaccinations and will require a third puppy booster vaccination. She is booked in for desexing on the 9th of March and will then be all ready to leap into her next adventure in her forever home!

More about Violet:
Violet is a sweet girl that has had a rough start to her life after being abandoned so young, but her courageous and adventurous spirit has shone through in force! Because she came to us so young, her exposure to the outside world has been limited but she loves meeting new people. Thanks to our volunteers visiting twice daily, she has also adapted quickly to wearing a harness and walks on a lead. Violet currently shares an enclosure with another of our rescue doggies – Karakia and has spent time playing with some of our bigger doggies. She shows confidence in all new situations and just loves to play.  We can’t wait for Violet to find her forever home as soon as possible, so that she can live the life she absolutely deserves!

Violet’s adoption fee is $450, which helps to pay for her veterinary costs, parasitic treatments, and food while in care.
