Chucky - Adopted!
Chucky is a happy, friendly, and playful 12 month old Bull Mastiff X.
Chucky’s personality:
Chucky is a sweet but slightly boisterous boy. He loves human company and affection; and wants to play with every doggy he meets. He is completely non- reactive and as happy as they come!!
Chucky’s ideal forever home:
Chucky is good with adults and children, large dogs and small- so he will suit most home dynamics. He needs an owner who will be patient with him, and will give him the consistency and training he needs. Chucky cannot be contained by standard fencing when left alone - he wants to jump out and say hello to everyone! So, he will either need constant company or access to inside. when his humans are out.
Chucky’s story:
Sadly, Chucky’s owner changed their living situation, leaving Chucky and his sister in an enclosure on a property alone. His sister found a home but Chucky was destined for euthanasia when we were contacted by a friend and alerted of his situation.
Chucky’s medical history:
Chucky is in his prime! He is a very healthy boy. Chucky is now desexed, microchipped, treated for fleas, ticks, heartworm and intestinal worms.
More about Chucky:
When we took Chucky on, we appealed for an urgent foster home, as we had no space to care for him ourselves at the time. Chucky was temporarily homed with two small, and slightly cranky, doggies and a human working full-time.
Despite these circumstances, that were less than ideal (but very much appreciated!), Chucky was doing so well. EXCEPT for chewing things when left alone. He didn’t attempt to escape or jump fences, as he was allowed access to the house at all times. But he did explore the insides of some cushions, a remote control, computer mouse.......and an unopened drone!! Yikes!
As soon as we had space at Sweet Pea, we brought Chucky into our care. He hasn't destroyed anything yet! But he did like to rearrange the furniture in his enclosure when he first arrived (he doesn’t anymore) and he can jump out of our day yard, over 6 foot chain wire fencing.
In the week that Chucky has been with us he has come along in leaps and bounds! Pardon the pun. And in the right home this gorgeous, loving boy will flourish.!!
