Chopper
A regal, gentle, and charming old soul
Chopper’s personality: Chopper is an eleven-and-a-half-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback X. He is the epitome of grace and gentleness, with a distinguished and calming presence. Chopper’s demeanour is as regal as it is affectionate. He doesn’t bark but communicates in soft whimpers, endearing himself to everyone he meets.
Chopper is calm and well-behaved - easy to walk and enjoys affection. He has a cheeky, playful side that surfaces in the yard with toys and when his humans offer a game of play. Chopper is friendly and affectionate and gets along well with other dogs.
Chopper’s ideal forever home: Chopper is a senior boy but still has vigour, good health, and a playful nature. He would suit a quiet home where he can be doted on and loved as he is used to being. It appears he would be happy with another dog, but he has lived his whole life as an only dog with his single owner.
Chopper is in good health despite a few “old man warts” and is ready to enjoy his golden years basking in the love of a kind-hearted family. He asks for nothing more than a safe and loving home where he can feel cherished once again.
Chopper’s story: Chopper has lived a life full of love and loyalty and now finds himself searching for a new family after his beloved owner entered palliative care. He was to be euthanaised the day before he came to us, but the vet nurses at the hospital put out a last-minute plea for help that we happened to see, much to the delight and relief of Chopper’s owner.
Chopper’s medical history: Chopper has had blood tests carried out since arriving at Sweet Pea, returning results all within normal ranges. He has also been tested for heartworm, returning a negative result. We will anaesthetise and x-ray Chopper’s mouth as he may require one or two teeth to be extracted. He has a few skin tags and lumps, none of which appear sinister, but these will be checked when he undergoes his dental check-up.
Chopper is microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, and treated for heartworm, ticks, fleas, and intestinal worms.
More about Chopper: If you have a soft spot for senior dogs and are ready to open your heart to a loyal friend, Chopper is waiting patiently to fill your days with quiet companionship and unconditional love. Will you be the one to give this gentle soul the comfort and happiness he so deserves?
Chopper’s adoption fee is $450 which contributes towards his care and medical treatments.
